Communities in Schools of LA

Through counseling and tutoring, Communities in Schools of Los Angeles supports underprivileged students so that they graduate, starting at the middle school level. A CIBA Foundation Grant was awarded for the purchase of laptops that were donated to students who did not have one so that they could continue their education online during COVID-19.

Children's Bureau

Children's Bureau is committed to child abuse prevention by offering parenting classes, fostering care, and additional family support to make sure that each child is safe. A CIBA Foundation Grant was awarded for the purchase of laptops, iPads, and headphones for families struggling to attend online school, online counseling, and online parenting classes during COVID-19.

Sheridan Elementary School Robotics Program

The Sheridan Owl Bots Robotics Program provides an opportunity for Sheridan Elementary School students in Boyle Heights, CA to flourish in a way that fosters the technical and interpersonal skills necessary for success. A CIBA Foundation Grant was awarded for the purchase of Robotics equipment needed for building CIBA, the robot, for competitions.

PCDA  provides help to children with developmental or behavior concerns, including Autism, intellectual disabilities, and epilepsy. They serve children from birth to 21 years of age. A CIBA Foundation Grant was awarded for the purchase of diagnostic and therapeutic materials in their Speech and Language Therapy Programs.

UPWARD provides many services, including an outpatient therapy that supports under-insured, low-income children with mild to severe developmental delays and/or disabilities. They offer therapies to children in five specific disciplines: Physical, Speech and Language, Occupational, Music, and Feeding and Swallowing. A CIBA Foundation Grant was awarded for the purchase of adaptive toys, vision assessment materials, sensory supplies, and feeding therapy items for children participating in UPWARD's outpatient therapy.
